Symbolism of the Koasek Band logo:
The logo of the Abenaki Nation of Koasek is made up of three white pine
trees (Koas) which represent Koasek, "Place of the White Pines". The
three mountains symbolize the White Mountains, Green Mountains and
mountains of Maine which play an important role in our culture. The
three rivers all touching show our unity within our territory and
represent the Connecticut River which splits the Abenaki territory and
plays an important role in our culture and lives. The Sun rising behind
the mountains symbolizes the Dawn Land and all of the Wabanaki Peoples.
Our Council logo was created by Jacline Martin, a renown Québec artist.
The digital version of it was done for us as a gift by the Mashantucket
Pequots art department.
(Note: The above logo cannot be reproduced in any way, shape or form
without the permission of the artist and the Koasek Traditional Band of
the Sovereign Abenaki Nation)
